AA Aurora King Jays Minor Mosquito team win the Kingston Thunder Minor Mosquito tournament

The AA Aurora King Jays Minor Mosquito team went undefeated in Kingston to win the Kingston Thunder Minor Mosquito tournament on the weekend of June 9th-11th.

The team rolled through the round robin with three straight shutout victories.  On Friday night the Jays beat Mississauga SW 14-0.  Saturday saw two more wins with shutouts over Quinte, 10-0, followed by a 16-0 win over the host Kingston Thunder.  On Sunday morning in the semi-final, the Jays beat Mississauga SW 21-9 and followed that up on Sunday afternoon with a resounding 17-2 victory over Quinte in the finals.  Devin Cole was named the “Heart and Hustle” player of the game in the semi-final with Elliot Backer getting the nod for the same award in the final.  Each player contributed to the team’s success over the weekend but a special shout-out goes to the phenomenal performance by the pitching staff.

"As a coaching staff we could not be prouder of these boys" said coach Backer. "While our strength was pitching, all aspects of the game were on display and allowed us to achieve the success we did.  All we ask of our boys is to bring A effort and promise success would come.  They brought their A effort and they were rewarded."

The team would like to thank their sponsors, families, and fans for their support all weekend in Kingston and throughout the season so far.
